Floral Arch

 

Leaded Channel Window

The Floral Arch was constructed mainly for privacy on the front side of the home. The house sat well below street level and only 150 feet or so from the curb. The foyer stairs led up to the sleeping rooms on the second floor, as the morning and evening household traffic bustles about, privacy becomes of great importance.
 

 

Installation

Installing art glass of this and really any size should be handel ed by qualified personal. This is  not to say a homeowner could not install this window, but rather to exorcize care in judgment.

Scaffolding was needed and a three man crew was used to install.

THe window was installed up against existing safety glass, and secured with wood trim around the edges.

This installation went like clockwork and we were finished in 3 hours.

General Notes

The window was transported inside a custom built crate. The same crate was designed to be lifted up between the scaffolding and the window wall. When the crate was set on the top landing of the platform, one side of the crate was removed and the window was put into place. Two men atop the landing platform performed this task. The wood trim was nailed into place using a pneumatic brad nail gun.
 

 

General Notes

The Floral Arch was in place and the homeowner was very happy. The work we did generated more work and as such we fabricated

  • 2 side lights (shown below the arch)
  • 2 elliptical transoms (installed in the family room)
