Hand Crafted Excellence

Glass cut by hand and quality crafted will give the kitchen a richer classic appearance. Now it is so easy to get the artistic look and at affordable prices that you will want a panel adorning your kitchen.

Various Came Channels

There are several types of came offered to the homeowner.

To understand a little more about the way art glass panels are fabricated, we have put together this document as a means of educating our customers to a higher degree.

How Panels Are Made

About Construction

Step 1:

A pattern is drawn up along with a cartoon, which is cut out and adhered to each piece of glass to be cut.

Step 2:

The cartoon patterns are sprayed with an adhesive, which allows the paper to stick to the glass during the next phase.

Step 3:

Each piece of glass is scored by hand as it has been done for hundreds of years. This part of the fabrication process insures that the closest of tolerances can be held and maintained.

Step 4:

Each and every piece of glass must be wet ground to further maintain the strict tolerances needed to fit the panel pieces together.

Step 5:

After wet grinding and cleaning, the panel is ready for fitting. This step of the fabrication process is similar to assembling a puzzle. Each stick of came is hand cut and fitted along with the numbered pieces of glass. They are usually started from an upper corner and worked outward.

Step 6:

Once the panel is fit up and the surface is prepared for soldering, the joints are welded or soldered together. A special stained glass soldering iron is used to maintain a constant heated temperature needed to melt the various solders used.

Finish:

Brass Capped Lead & Beveled Panel

The finished product will be polished to a shining luster and mounted into the cabinet door.
Before the customer walks into their new or remodeled kitchen and gazes upon the fine cabinetry and surroundings, there is a lot of work done behind the scenes. Work which is performed by skilled professionals and experienced craftsman. The orchestration of planning and executing the undertaking of a new or remolded kitchen is the most difficult room in the home to achieve.
For this reason and others, I believe the “Kitchen” is the center of life in every house
