Gryphon Twister Grinder

The Gryphon Twister offers a revolutionary advance in comfort. By simply rotating the base, the grinding surface converts from horizontal to inclined. For the first time, you can sit while grinding. Even if you stand, the inclined work surface reduces fatigue because you no longer need to stoop over your work to see what you are doing.

• Powerful DC Motor
• Built-in Pump with spongeless cooling
• Second Story Platform
• Face Shield
• Two Gryphon Slip-on Bits
• Longer bit life due to improved cooling
• Five year limited warranty

Gryphon Slip-on Bits are the industry's easiest to change. The bits slip onto the shaft and held securely in place with a slight twist. To remove a bit, you simply lift it straight up. 1" and 3/4" bits are easily interchanged in seconds without tools or levers.
An automatic pump supplies a constant flow of water directly to the bit regardless of saw orientation. Because of the way the water is directed onto to the bit, there is virtually no splash. No sponge is required in this arrangement, eliminating a common source of irritation.

Gryphon Diamond Wire Saw Key Features:

GA004 Buy It

The Gryphon Diamond Wire Saw offers the omni-directional cutting of a round blade with a feature no other glass saw can offer: the ability to make inside cuts without a lead-in.
If you wish to make completely inside cuts, all you need to do is provide a pilot hole (usually with a grinding pin <pinsbit.html>), and pass the blade through the hole before cutting. Any intricate shape is possible by using this technique.
Gryphon replacement Wire Saw Blades are available in three grits. The Standard grit provides the smoothest cuts, and is recommended for most cutting. It is especially useful for cutting dychroic glass or other fragile material where the quality of the edge is of primary importance. The Power blades offer more aggressive cutting, and provide a nice compromise between the Standard and Super Power blades. The Super Power blades provide the most aggressive cutting due to the larger, coarser diamonds used. This blade is designed for the fastest cutting at the expense of a slightly rougher edge.

Gryphon Abrasive Miter Saw

Key Features:

We can order this item

The Gryphon Miter saw is particularly well suited for making premium cuts in thin wall extrusions of brass, zinc, steel and copper. It has a very fine abrasive blade which cuts cleanly and coolly resulting in a minimum of flash. The saw is used largely in the stained glass (for cutting the "came" used to join separate pieces of glass) and the automotive fields (for cutting tubing of all types including braided stainless hose). A large adjustable table provides settings for accurate angles. The chop saw design along with the built in clamp for the work and safety shield provide protection to the operator.

This saw offers the following features:
Simple construction
Powerful 1.1 peak hp direct drive motor
Large work surface
Adjustable angle of cut with protractor scale for repeatability
Thumbscrew clamp to hold work securely to fence while cutting
Easy one-hand operation
Ultra-thin abrasive blade provides very clean and quick cuts
Made in USA

Gryphon-E. Herrmann Grinding Bits

GA18 Buy 1" Standard Bit

GA17 Buy 3/4" Standard Bit

Gryphon is proud to be able to offer a line of high quality grinding bits made made in Germany by E. Herrmann, the same company that makes Gryphon's diamond band saw blades.
A line of 22 different bits is offered in a combination of sizes, configurations and degree of coarseness. These Gryphon-Herrmann bits are manufactured to the highest quality yet are priced to be competitive with standard bits. The bits are manufactured by bonding cubic crystals of diamond in several layers within a nickel matrix. As the bit is used, microscopic particles break off, revealing a fresh surface. As one diamond wears away, the next diamond in the layer is exposed. The result is bits with extremely long life. Traditional bits dull much faster.

As illustrated in the first drawing at right, the Gryphon-Herrman bits are made in a way that promotes self-sharpening as the bit is used. Because the old diamonds expose fresh edges and eventually fresh new diamond crystals as they wear, you have a constantly renewed diamond surface as you grind.

Conventional diamond grinding bits (as shown in the second illustration) do not expose fresh diamonds as they wear. Once the crystal is gone, so is the effectiveness of the grinding bit. Also, the process which bonds the diamonds to the core is weaker, allowing the crystals to break free, taking with them all grinding ability for that portion of the bit.
